In federal court today, two local witches were to challenge a church's use of a city-owned park to put on a Halloween haunted trail.

School Suspends Girl for Casting Spell

OKLAHOMA CITY (Reuters) - An Oklahoma high school suspended a 15-year-old student after accusing her of casting a magic spell that caused a teacher to become sick, lawyers for the student said on Friday.  According to the lawsuit, Brandi Blackbear had read a library book about Wicca beliefs and, under aggressive interrogation by Bushyhead, said she might be a Wiccan.

In the news we read that children are being seduced by the religion of Wicca. Wicca religious groups are suing churches for having Halloween activities on public land on a witches holiday. May we now put aside all the arguments from so-called Christians that witchcraft and wizardry are innocent forms of entertainment?

The above articles are only a sign of things to come. Wicca will continue to make its beliefs know, recruit more members and flex it's legal muscles now that it has been emboldened by the outrageous popularity of witchcraft in books like Harry Potter.

And whether or not this girl is a really casting spells, we now have an American culture where witchcraft, wicca, and spells are SO part of everyday life, that we can expect even more children and teens to get involved in it.

I have been strongly taken to task by mothers, children, and even Baptist youth pastors, that think I have overstated the dangers of witchcraft and the occult in "entertainment".  Harry Potter books, Pokémon, Sabrina, Tales from the Crypt, and tons of other children's books, video games, comic books, tv shows and movies literally DRENCH our children with the putrid garbage of the demonic world. 

Excuse the grotesque visual image, but Satan is vomiting this filth up from the pit of hell and parents sit their kids down to the table every day to lap it up calling it, "entertainment".  Meanwhile he laughs when "christians" argue with each other about whether it is harmful.

Is it harmful?  Of course it is! God's word tells us that we are accountable for even our idle words (Matt 12:36), and that we should guard our ears and eyes from things that are contrary to God's teaching (Prov. 4:20-27).  We also know that "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he" (Prov. 23:7).  Children are to be raised in the way they should go - so that when they are old, they won't depart from the truth (Prov. 22:6).  Well the opposite is true, as well.  If you train up a child viewing demonic doctrines as entertainment, then they will not depart from that either.

Do your children have TV set in their bedroom, or do they watch TV by themselves?  If so, any given night children can view murders, rapes, trash-talking, attacks against women, shootings, the occult, and more... And these are just during FAMILY HOUR, not the news.  Some of this even exists in children's programming.

It's time we BREAK THE SPELL!  

Parents, please don't forfeit your job of raising your kids in the way they should go.  YOU have to make CHOICES in what is good and wholesome and healthy and godly for your child's life.  You child is not equipped to make those wise choices and neither is Hollywood.  They are only interested in selling more and more sensational material.  They don't care about your child... and neither do you if you don't filter what they are being fed by the entertainment industry.

I know my words are harsh.  They are fully intended to be.  Children are being programmed to accept drugs, alcohol, sexual promiscuity, filthy language, violence, and the occult because parents are not wise or confident enough to make the tough decisions that go against what the world says. It could be because the parents themselves are not willing to accept God's limits in their lives.  Let me encourage you, the life He offers isn't about the limits. It is about being a follower of Christ, putting your faith in Jesus Christ, confessing your sins and asking Him to save you and enjoying the Abundant Life that come from obedience to Him.  

Pray and ask for His wisdom. Read the Bible in a version you can readily understand, learn His ways, and find peace and understanding that only He offers.

We love him, because he first loved us.  Don't focus on the "religious"... focus on the "relationship" with Jesus Christ. Humble yourself to obedience and the rest will be easy.  Don't try to be a Christian robot - just going through the motions of what the church tells you to do or not do.  You are a joint-heir with Christ, and Holy Priest to God -- if you know him as your Savior.  Live like that.  Let the Holy Spirit provide the ABUNDANT LIFE Christ offers (John 10:10).  If you aren't enjoying it, then it could be that you have been living for the wrong reason (living for yourself, or to please the church or the world) instead of living for the one that died for you.

Do you BELIEVE GOD or do you just believe IN God?

God gave you the job of raising your children and He gave you a book full of answers and principles to equip you to do the job. He gave the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide you in the hard times.  Parents, the choices are only going to get harder as you raise you children, but God can and will give you the wisdom and strength if you love Him, trust Him, and obey Him.
